The Festa del Voto celebrates the liberation of the San Damiano Monastery and the city of Assisi from the threat of Saracen invasion, thanks to the intercession of Saint Clare. A solemn procession starts from the historic center of the city to reach the Basilica of Saint Claire and concludes at the Sanctuary of San Damiano.
