More than 200 events scheduled for the long summer in Assisi. A very rich playbill, including
concerts, shows, festivals, art, culture, nature, social gathering, enhancement
of the city’s spaces and territorial resources.
The program is promoted by the Municipality of Assisi, in collaboration with various associative and cultural realities. A project broad, with a varied and quality offer, for a transversal audience of citizens and visitors.
The playbill is constantly being updated and can be consulted at www.assisiestate.it. Great expectations for Suoni Controvento, with two concerts at the Rocca Maggiore: on August 1. Cristiano De Andrè and on the 3 Mr Rain.
Also here, Riverock festival will offer several concerts from July 25 to 28, with names with Cosmo, Giò Evan, Marlene Kunz, Selton, Margherita Vicario and many others. Still at the Rocca Maggiore, in August in the Giardino degli Incanti, a film festival with great films under the stars. And more music with Cambio Festival, a musical event dedicated to World Music, with high-profile and internationally prominent artists who will perform between June, July and August. From July 22 to 28, the “Wood Symposium“: sculptors of international caliber will give life to works of art in the squares and alleys of the city, starting from an olive root.
Singular performances, with multiple artistic languages, workshops and original shows, in
unseen places in the city, will give life to the project Every corner, every stone. Back in
September Birba chi Legge, a festival of stories for children and young people.
From June to September, Mount Subasio Park will host more than 30 free hikes
for young and old alike. Flagship event Ascent to the Mount, July 13 and 14: a special and
evocative sensory, playful and recreational experience between music and hiking.
From July 6 to Sept. 6, the Notes of Assisi festival returns: musical and other appointments only, featuring local artists, who will perform in the heart of the city and at Santa Maria degli Angeli. From Aug. 15 to 20, second edition of De MusicAssisi, the first festival of medieval music medieval in Umbria, with internationally renowned groups, conferences, workshops, guided tours guided tours, market-exhibitions and much more within the historic center.
Assisi’s long summer is also marked by the traditional palii (Palio del Cupolone from
June 14 to 23 in Santa Maria degli Angeli and Palio di San Rufino from August 17 to 25 in the
historic center) and by many religious festivals: Festa del Voto on June 22, Perdono di
Assisi on Aug. 1 and 2, Feast of St. Clare on Aug. 11 and that of the patron saint St.
Rufino on Aug. 12. Several art exhibitions, two above all: at the Rocca Maggiore, “Listening to the Flight of the Birds” by Carlos Garaicoa; “Assisi in the 20th Century. The Visual Arts” in Pinacoteca Comunale.
